Henrietta paints watercolours with a particular emphasis on the science of palette selection. They are mainly traditional artworks covering a plethora of subject matter to include portraiture of both dogs, horses and children; landscapes, still life, buildings, and seascapes, instilled with a focus on the effects of light.

Henrietta is originally from Kintyre, on the west coast of Scotland where she grew up in an arts and crafts house. She continues to find that part of the world an inspiration for some of her work.

From an early age she was inspired by her Grandmother who was an amateur watercolourist.  On leaving school she attended evening classes at Edinburgh College of Art in Life drawing and Still Life, followed by a year’s Foundation Course at Chelsea College of Art and a three year fine arts diploma course in Illustrative Arts at The City And Guilds of London Art School.

Having married and had a family, she has continued to paint and to offer tuition in watercolour painting.
