Oil and wax
h: 36 w: 26 d: 1 (cms).
I painted this piece during a lesson held by Jenny Graham an artist who came along to a BAS session to teach us how to use this medium combination. I painted this piece using a credit card although Jenny used something that looked like a bowl scraper! Anyway, the emphasis was putting in the shapes first and breaking down into the main compositional areas. Mixing oil paint with cold wax proved really enjoyable and the consistency nice and creamy. I found I could get lost in the process and focus on line and shape by changing the angle of the credit card. I loved it and hope that I have managed to do justice to the beauty of Lake Louise in Canada’s Rockies.
