Statement

Capturing the elusive property of light and its transformative property is everything. I work initially en Plein air and make numerous visits to the places that draw me to paint and sketch. These places are normally a bit odd, villages that don't quite cut it on the traditional beauty front and over time become more derelict but they may become eery, interesting or human.

So what do I want with my art? To show the beauty in the banal and what is around us. What inhabits those woods in the way of past lives lived? Where does that unpaved road lead?
